Night SkyThis is a featured page

The Inland Northwest region, with it's low humidity and lack of artificial night lights, provides fair to good conditions for viewing the night sky. The best place to look at the different phases of the Moon, or look for constellations in the Dishman Hills Natural Area will be in the south end of the reserve. The north end of Dishman Hills suffers from considerable light pollution from Sprague Avenue. To learn more about the best times of the year to view the night sky in the Dishman Hills click on the links to the left. We have provided information on our solar system, the stars that you can see both with the naked eye, and with the aid of a telescope, and the seasonal sky maps. Have fun looking to the heavens, just remember that the park closes at dusk so you might need to be discrete to avoid any "unfriendly" confrontations.
